We conduct preliminary due diligence on selected Trading Advisors. Due diligence reports cover the following areas:
Analysis of Trading Advisor investment strategies.
Identification of investment strategy risks and their respective mitigants.
Confirmation of Trading Advisor returns provided by third party administrators, or executing/clearing brokers.
Analysis of operational procedures and infrastructure.
Identification of operational risks and existing mitigants.
Relevant background and regulatory checks of Trading Advisor key personnel.
For some of our advisors our parent PFG is the clearing broker. Having the clearing relationship at our parent can provide many benefits. Most notably, it allows Peregrine to have daily transparency with regard to the Advisor’s trading activity. For Advisors executing outside of PFG, arrangements are made to “give up” the transaction for clearing at PFG or an associated clearing firm. In this way we can monitor our Advisors’ activity while periodically verifying their trades with third party administrators. We are also committed to the ongoing due diligence of our Advisors subsequent to our allocations and we conduct periodic site visits to update their financial and operational risk profiles.
